To a question about President Asif Ali Zardari’s resignation, the Prime Minister said that they (both President and PM) remained in jails but did not compromise on principles. “Similarly, we’d face challenges whatever they are,” the Prime Minister said adding, the PPP leadership especially President would not compromise on principles of democracy.

To a question, he said that he never said to tender resignation but would not write letter to the Swiss government over National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) matter.
Drawing the world attention towards the NATO attacks on Pakistan posts, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan has sacrificed 35,000 lives in war against terror and the attacks were a joke and insult of the sacrifices. He also ruled out talks with Taliban, adding that complete peace in Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan.
Asked would you fight your ally like US as your army chief says the soldiers at boarders are equipped to retaliate any attack and also cut off the NATO supply route, the Prime Minister said, “we would not fight our ally but we reserve our right to defense. And we must defend our territorial integrity and national sovereignty. The ally must consider who they were attacking on, and whose soldiers they were killing in that,” the PM pointed out.
To a question whether PML-N leader bypassed the Parliament in going to the Supreme Court with petition on memogate, the Prime Minister did not answer directing but remarked “I think Mian Sahib believes on SHOs more than the Parliament.”

To a question about Saraiki province, the Prime Minister said Saraiki province is desire of the people and it is an important matter which can not be left for the next parliament.
The government will approach the present assembly for creation of the Saraiki province, he added.
To another question about his statement under which he said that he will resign but will not write a letter to the Swiss government on the issue of NRO, the Prime Minister said he never said this and his statement was presented in a wrong way.
To a question that the killers of Benazir Bhutto were not punished, he said, “I only want to tell you this, if you see that in high profile cases, it takes time. And you have seen other cases of murder in the country, about which nothing has come up yet. This matter is sub judice, in the judiciary and we should wait for results.”
