Criticising the discriminatory attitude of the government towards the minorities, speakers at a seminar on Saturday said the country’s leaders could not assure human rights of the people until they provided basic rights to the minorities.
They said the government had violated the constitution by depriving minorities, particularly the Christian community of their rights.
They were speaking at a seminar organised in connection with ‘International Human Rights Day’ aimed at highlighting the minorities’ rights in Pakistan as a part of human rights.
Speaking on the occasion All Pakistan Christian League Chairman Prof Salamat said the minorities had no proper representation in the Parliament which was why minorities were deprived of their rights.
