Three more arrested in Wali Babar murder case

Police claimed to have arrested three more suspects on charges of being involved in the killing of private TV channel reporter Wali Khan Babar.Sources said intelligence agencies raided a house located in Hyderabad’s Liaquat Market and arrested five people, including three suspects in Babar’s murder case, with weapons. The three accused – Kamran alias Lamba, Faheem alias Buddhu and Naeem – are said to be affiliated with a political party. Sources said the suspects had gone into hiding after Babar’s murder and then had flown to the UAE. According to the intelligence agencies that have had their eyes on the accused, after returning to Pakistan, the suspects had found a new hideout in Hyderabad, the sources added.
They said personnel of intelligence agencies along with police and Rangers raided the suspects’ hideout and arrested five people with weapons. The main accused in Babar’s murder case, Faisal alias Mota, is still at large and the police are conducting raids for arresting him, they added. Sources said security forces had conducted several raids in Karachi for Faisal’s arrest, but the accused had escaped five minutes before the arrival of the security personnel. It is pertinent to mention here that Babar was murdered on January 13. Suspects Faisal alias Nafsyati, Syed Muhammad Ali Rizvi, Shahrukh alias Mani, Naveed alias Polka and Muhammad Shakeel were arrested on April 17.
