Petition seeks help for Quaid’s heirs

A constitutional petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court in which the petitioner is seeking some financial assistance for the grandchildren of father of the nation, Quaid –e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The petitioner says the grandchildren of Jinnah who are presently living in Karachi are very poor and that it is the state’s responsibility to take care of them. The petition was filed by Rana Ilamuddin Ghazi who contented that Quaid –e-Azam had devoted his life for the creation of Pakistan and rendered a long struggle for it. The petitioner said Pakistan was such a big gift from Quaid that the nation should always remain thankful to him. He said it was regrettable that Aslam Jinnah and Khurshed Jinnah, the children of Quaid –e-Azam’s daughter, were in living life in acute poverty and the government was paying no head to their condition. He said two grandchildren of the father of the nation did not even have even their own house The petitioner has made the federal government and the prime minister of Pakistan respondents in the petition. He requested the court to order the federal government and prime minister to provide financial assistance to the two children of the daughter of Quaid-e-Azam so they their financial problems might be solved. He also wished that efforts be made to reclaim the Quaid-e-Azam’s property in India and that the same be handed over to his heirs.
Seminars on violence against women organised: Strengthening Participatory Organisation (SPO), in collaboration with Oxfam and the European Commission will hold a media consultative seminar on the ‘Role of Media Reporting to Eliminate Torture Against Women’, on Friday, from 3pm to 5pm, at the Holiday Inn hotel. A programme preceding it would be held between 10am and 12.30 pm, on social behaviour towards violence against women at the Fatima Jinnah College for Women in Chuna Mandi.

  1. Jinnah's daughter's son is Nusli Wadia – the Indian billionairre and textile tycoon. His sister is based in New York as is Jinnah's daughter. ____Aslam "Jinnah" is from the line of Nathu Poonja who was probably the older brother of Jina Poonja – Jinnah's father. ____Ilmuddin Ghazi is a crazy wannabe who keeps putting these petitions without any rhyme or reason… and so the information is inaccurate.
