Former Pakistan ambassador to the U.S. Hussain Haqqani has filed his reply with regards to the memogate in Supreme Court (SC), praying the court to review its interim order.
The Supreme Court had barred Haqqani from leaving the country in its interim order as the apex court had initiated hearing of memogate petitions.
Former Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association President Asma Jahangir submitted the reply Haqqani’s behalf.
Haqqni requested the court to withdraw its short order in the memogate scandal case as he said ‘baseless allegations’ had been leveled against him.
Another petition has also been filed whereby the court has been requested to review its interim order in the memogate scandal.
Asma Jahangir was of the view that application would be submitted in the court seeking deletion of the name of Hussain Haqqani from Exit Control List (ECL).
Hussain Haqqani had not been informed what would be the nature of the allegations, she added.
Nothing had been said where the memo was handed over and what discussion was made in this connection. Imaginary things had been made basis in memo issue and interim order was not clear with reference to inquiry, she maintained.
