‘Get well soon Mr President’

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab chapter held a prayer service for President Asif Ali Zardari’s health at its provincial secretariat on Thursday. A large number of party workers, local leaders and PPP Punjab-office bearers, including PPP Punjab General Secretary Samiullah Khan, Finance Secretary Aurangzeb Burki, Usman Malik and others participated in the service. PPP leaders said that Zardari was vital to unite the whole nation at this crucial time, as he was the only leader who could get the country out of prevailing crises. They told journalists that there was no reality in rumours of President Zardari’s resignation and the forces involvement in spreading fake information were in fact enemies of democracy and the country.
Aurangzeb Burki said that President Zardari’s health was now stable and he would return to the country in a few days to lead the nation. He said that Zardari was the first leader who started the politics of reconciliation, which gathered all democratic forces at a one-point agenda. PPP leaders said that the party was organising a public gathering at residence of Aslam Gill on December 18 where several party leaders, including PPP Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, President Zardari’s Punjab Coordinator Naveed Chaudhry, Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas and others will address workers. The PPP Minorities Wing, led by Napolean Qayyum, also prayed for the president’s health.
