A petition was filed in the Supreme Court Lahore Registry on Wednesday seeking appointment of the federal ombudsman, which was vacant since one and half years.
Petitioner Iftikhar Hussain submitted that the federal government was showing negligence in appointing the ombudsman. He said that hundreds of litigants were being ignored owing to absence of the federal ombudsman. The petitioner requested the court to direct the federal government to appoint the ombudsman on merit by advertising it in the media properly.
