Parliamentary Committee summons details of accords with NATO, US

The Parliamentary Committee for National Security has summoned details of all the accords, government had/ has signed with NATO and America.
The committee meeting, convened by Senator Raza Rabbani on Thursday, was also attended by its members, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Ishaq Dar, Babar Awan, Waseem Sajjad, Israr ullah Zehri and others.
The committee reviewed the letter sent to the committee by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, regarding investigations of the Memogate scandal, and (the committee) also finalised its work plan (strategy) for investigations.
The committee has also decided to seek the stance of foreign and interior ministries regarding all accords signed by government with NATO and America, while also demanding information regarding any other assurances.
Replying to a question, he said the parliamentary committee had the authority to summon anyone, including Hussain Haqqani for questioning, and (committee) would strictly work according to its mandate.
He also announced that the committee would be convened on December 13, in which the authorities of interior and foreign ministries would also be summoned.
