Man rapes fiancé, traffic wardens suspended

A girl was raped and injured by her fiancé over a property dispute in Shera Kot Police precincts on Wednesday.
According to police sources, Qaiser Shah of Babu Sabu was engaged with Malik Shabbir’s daughter Shakila. The accused quarreled with his fiancé often over her inherited property. Qaiser, on Wednesday, picked Shakila from her home and took her to a quarter where he left her injured after raping her and escaped from the scene.
People from the neighborhood took Shakila to a hospital where her condition was said to be stable. The police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of Shakila’s brother and have started investigation in the matter.
In another incident, two traffic wardens were suspended for allegedly torturing two cameramen of a private television channel.
According to sources, Jaleel and Junaid were going to their office when two traffic wardens, identified as Fahad and Adnan, stopped them near the Muslim Town Mor for violating the traffic signal.
As quarreling between the two parties turned violent, the wardens took the cameramen to the Ichra Police Station, where they harassed them for two hours.
Later, Sadr Traffic Superintendent Police (SP) Zafar Cheema reached the police station and after hearing the accounts of both parties, suspended the accused traffic wardens and ordered an inquiry against them.
