An Israeli air strike on a car killed at least two Hamas militants and wounded two others on a crowded Gaza street on Thursday, the Israeli army and local medical officials said, proclaiming that one of them had planned a deadly bombing in Eilat in 2007. Hamas radio identified the dead as brothers Essam Al-Batsh and Sobhi Al-Batsh, from the Hamas armed wing. Hundreds of Palestinians crowded around the charred remains of the car, which was hit in the early afternoon on a main urban thoroughfare. In Tel Aviv, an Israeli military spokeswoman confirmed an air strike had been carried out. She said the two men killed in the incident had been planning an attack on Israeli civilians and soldiers along Israel’s border with Egypt’s Sinai peninsula.
