Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that transparency, high standards and the expeditious completion of development projects is a hallmark of the Punjab government. He said projects pertaining to the provision of modern, comfortable, and affordable transport facilities to the masses had been started in the provincial capital, adding that this programme would be extended to all cities of the province. He welcomed the interest of Argentina in the transport sector, adding that steps would expeditiously be taken in this direction.
He was talking to Argentinean Ambassador in Pakistan Rodolfo Martin Saravia at the CM’s Secretariat on Wednesday. Matters of mutual interest, including cooperation in transport, livestock and various other sectors, were discussed. Saravia said Argentina was interested in cooperation with Punjab in livestock, transport, pharmaceutical and other sectors, including setting-up a meat-processing plant, provision of CNG buses and establishment of refilling stations. Later, the Ambassador presented a book containing photographs of Northern Areas of Pakistan taken by an Argentinean photographer.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR YOUTH: Shahbaz presided over a high level meeting at the CM’s Secretariat, which took a number of decisions regarding skills development in Punjab and the expeditious implementation of the youth vocational education programme. The meeting decided to promote private-public partnership to develop a maximum workforce in accordance with the market needs.
