President has no links with May 2 incident: Malik

Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that Mansoor Ijaz, the central character of the memogate scandal, could not be trusted, while urging the the United States to take action against the Pakistani-American businessman.
Talking to media after his visit of the National Crisis Cell of the Interior Ministry on Monday, Malik said the May 2 incident had nothing to do with President Asif Ali Zardari and the US officials have refuted the statements made by Mansoor Ijaz.
The Interior Minister, during his visit of the National Crisis Management Cell, presided over a meeting to review the law and order situation and the security arrangements during Muharram.
The minister confirmed that Hussain Haqqani’s name has not been put on exit control list, adding that the government would do so after orders of the Supreme Court.
