Police beef up security

The Islamabad Police have tightened security in the district to thwart any untoward incident and enhanced vigilance as well as patrolling in various areas of city. A spokesman for the Islamabad Police said security measures were already in place for Muharram processions but further improvement had been made in it with extra deployment and strict patrolling as well as searching in the vicinity of processions’ areas. Deployment of cops at rooftops had been ensured and processions routes were being thoroughly covered by security personnel, he added. The Islamabad SSP, who is monitoring the security arrangements, has directed all the SDPOs and SHOs to take necessary steps in this regard.
Checking at entry and exit points of Islamabad has been also enhanced, while all wings of Islamabad police have been further directed to maintain close coordination with one another. Security personnel have been asked not to leave their duty points even after the passage of processions and maintain close coordination with their security in-charge.
