The Old Ravains Union has expressed deep sorrow at the sad demise of legendary actor and Old Ravian Dev Anand. Dev graduated in English Literature from Government College, Lahore in the early 1940s. Dev was known to have expressed love for his alma mater on many occasions. A charismatic and flamboyant Bollywood figure, Dev died of a heart attack in London, his family said Sunday.
He was aged 88. Dev was known for his roles in scores of movies, including “Jewel Thief” and “Guide”. The veteran actor has also directed and produced films. Born on September 26, 1923, the son of a Punjab lawyer, Dev studied English literature and law. He moved during his 20s to India’s film capital of Mumbai, where he kicked off his acting career.
