Dharampura, Thokar Niaz Baig marked ‘sensitive’

Interior Ministry has declared majalis and processions at two points in the provincial capital as ‘sensitive’ on Ashura Day. Well placed sources in law enforcement agencies said the Interior Ministry had forwarded a letter to all the concerned departments about expected terrorist attacks on Muharram 10 at Dharampura and Thokar Niaz Baig area. Well placed sources in Intelligence Agencies said it could not be predicted which organisation would carry out the attack. It would be important to mention that a terror plan was spoiled by law enforcement with the arrest of one terror suspect namely Muzammal Hussain s/o Abdul Hameed resident of Rosa Bail village located on Manga-Raiwind Road. Sources said the law enforcement agencies had recovered 2 hand grenades, two pistols and about 10 kilogram explosive material from his resident. Operations DIG Ghulam Mehmood Dogar also visited both sensitive places and ordered to depute two more reserve batches at Thokar Niaz Baig and 20 more cops at Dharampura. He also visited other locations from where the procession would pass.
