A rashly driven car crushed an unidentified old man in Sanda police precincts while the driver of car managed to escape from the scene. According to details, a 60 years old man was hit by a speeding car while crossing the road near New Khan Bus terminal at Band Road and was taken to a hospital but could not survive his injuries.
TRAIN KILLS MAN: A train crushed a man who was trying to cross the track in Badami Bagh. The deceased, identified as Muhammad Muneer of 60 years, was going with his son to Badami Bagh from his residential area of Shadbagh when they encountered a closed railway crossing. The deceased tried to cross the track on foot when he was crushed by the train.
BODY FOUND: A body of unidentified person, suspected to have died of a heart attack, was found in Sanda area and was shifted to the morgue.
RAPISTS ARRESTED: Defence-A police arrested two persons accused of kidnapping and raping a woman. The accused persons were identified as Shafiq and Ghulam Mustafa. According to the investigation officer the third accused in the case Saleem was on bail while the fourth nominated in the complaint was yet to be arrested. Shafiq was accused of raping his tenant’s daughter who was married but was living at her parents’ place due to differences with her husband.
The victim woman (S) was kidnapped by Shafiq through deception that he would manage a job for her. The accused person took the woman to some unknown place and raped her with help of a relative Saleem and another fellow Ghulam Mustafa who was accused of filming the rape scene.
GIRL DIES MYSTERIOUSLY: A girl died in mysterious conditions in Jinnah Hospital on Friday late night. According to doctors of the hospital, the girl named Shabana of age 18 years was brought to hospital half dead and passed away almost instantly. Doctors ascertained D&C abortion as reason of the death. Per details, Shabana, originally a resident of Vehari, was working as a maid in Asghar’s home in Mansoora Bazar of Hanjarwal area.
KIDNAPPED DRIVER RECOVERED: Civil lines police recovered a rickshaw driver kidnapped by a group, including policemen, for ransom. Three of the kidnappers were arrested while the two main accused police constables managed to flee. According to police two policemen deputed in Millat Park Police Station kidnapped rickshaw driver Rana Qaiser from civil lines police precincts and had demanded ransom of Rs 0.2 million from the family. The kidnappers were identified as constables Zeeshan and Irfan Shah and their accomplices Umair, Waqas and Ammar.
CONTESTED PARENTHOOD: The miseries of an infant recently recovered from a woman after being kidnapped from Bibi Pakdaman do not seem to be ending as two different men have appeared with the claim of his fatherhood. According to reports, two different couples have claimed parenthood of the child recovered. Ghulam Rasool and Rukhsana of Nankana Sahib and Zafar Iqbal and his wife Naseem Bibi are claiming to be parents of the child. However police has decided to get child’s DNA tested.
FIRING: A youth opened fire over a petty issue in Iqbal Town police precincts injuring a shopkeeper and passer-by. According to police, the injured were said to be critical in hospital while a case was registered against the attacker. Per details, Shahbaz visited Aqeel, a shopkeeper, in Iqbal Town where both had a clash and Shahbaz opened fire which injured Aqeel and a passer by while the assailant managed to escape from the scene.
