Director General Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer reviewed the arrangements for providing emergency medical cover to the mourning processions during Moharram-ul-Harram and the rescuers have been assigned special emergency duties in all over the Punjab including Rawalpindi.
Like other cities of Punjab, the rescuers will remain on emergency alert in Rawalpindi with 13 fully equipped Emergency Ambulances, 12 Fire Vehicles, three rescue and recovery vehicles and two specialised vehicles (105f & 65f). 14 rescue mobile posts will move along with the processions.
Rescue posts will be established at Imambargah Col Maqbool Iqbal road, Habib Bank Chowk near Col. Maqbool Imambargah, Iqbal road Imam bargah, Imam bargah Hifazat Ali Shah, Imambargah Ashiq Hussain, Imam Bargah Yadgar-e-Hussain Satellite Town, Imam bargah Qasr-e-Sajjad Mughlabad, Imam bargah Saiyn Sadiq Muslim Town, Imam bargah Qasr-e-Abbas Tulsa Road, Old TB Hospital Baltistani Imam bargah, Qasr-e-Abu Talib Mughlabad, Jamia Masjid Raja Bazar, R.A Bazar and Chohr Chowk. 05 key points will also be established at Banni Chowk, Qademi Imam Bargah Banni, Habib Bank Chowk, Jama Mosque Raja Bazar and Haidri Chowk. All mobile posts and ambulances with medical kits will be moving along with the processions to provide mourners with immediate medical treatment if needed. Emergency Officers including trained doctors will supervise the arrangements on both days.
