Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif said on Friday that the way elected representatives, officers, departments, doctors, nurses and paramedical staff made tireless efforts against dengue and overcame the mortality rate through their commitment and hard work and by the grace of God, is a historic achievement. He was addressing people selected from different sectors for training in treatment and eradication of dengue at the CM’s Secretariat before their departure to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand and Sri Lanka.
Shahbaz said that a strategy had been evolved on a permanent basis for curbing dengue under which 110 people associated with different sectors were being sent to Thailand and Sri Lanka for training. He said that these people on their return will serve as master trainers to impart training to thousands of others in eradication and treatment of dengue.
Awards certificates to hospital staff: Shahbaz awarded commendatory certificates to 50 doctors, nurses, paramedics and lab technicians of the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) in recognition of services rendered during the recent dengue epidemic.
