The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) on Friday constituted a committee to find a suitable place for the goods transport terminal’s relocation from Circular Road to the city’s outskirts.
The committee, headed by Lahore DCO Ahad Cheema, has been given 10 days to find an appropriate place. Other members of the committee include All Pakistan Goods Transport Association General Secretary Malik Shaukat Ali, City Traffic SP Mustafa Hameed, Colonel (r) Younas Bharola and Arshad Bhatti. Chairing a meeting of Pakistan Goods Transport Association office-bearers, Lahore Commissioner Jawad Rafique said that the Punjab government had taken the Goods Transport Union on board for choosing a new place for terminals probably near Ring Road. He said that the new terminal would be constructed according to international standards, which would benefit transporters very much. He said that all terminals would be shifted simultaneously.
