Zardari vows to fail all Opp moves

President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday said all attempts against him and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would be thwarted at all costs. He was speaking to various delegations of PPP and Awami National Party that called on him at the Presidency.
“I am the spiritual son of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and I can face every kind of challenge. Benazir Bhutto had full confidence in me. Now the nation has confidence in her closest aide,” the president added.
He said he was not afraid of the prevailing situation. “The PPP came into power by getting peoples’ mandate and all political forces should respect it,” he said.
According to the sources, hearing in the Supreme Court in the memo scam, recent statements of Nawaz Sharif and other important issues and future policies of the PPP were discussed during the meetings. Zardari said the country was passing through a difficult time and it could not afford confrontation, adding that he would continue the politics of reconciliation, as he did not want conflict with any one.
