Hamdard University’s professor Col (retd) Iftikhar Abidi and his driver Iftikhar Ahmed Soomro who had went missing on November 15 were recovered from the Super Highway area by a team of Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) without paying any ransom. According to a police statement issued on Wednesday, Prof Abidi and his driver were kidnapped from the Northern Bypass in the Manghopir police precincts. The investigation of the case was handed over to the AVCC, which recovered both the abductees unharmed from the vicinity of Al Habib Hotel on the Super Highway. Police said no ransom was paid for their release.
