Sri Lankan Armed Forces Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Air Chief Marshal WDRMJ Goonetileke on Tuesday called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Khalid Shameem Wynne.
An ISPR statement said, “both stayed together for some time and discussed matters related to the emerging geo-strategic environment of the region with a special emphasis on South Asia.”
Earlier, Goonetileke was presented a guard of honour by a tri-services contingent. The Sri Lankan CDS appreciated the role played by the Pakistan army in the fight against terror and thanked Pakistan for supporting different Defence Cooperation programmmes and mutual exchanges.
