15 killed as van catches fire near Taxila

At least fifteen persons were killed and several others injured when a passenger van caught fire following a road accident near Taxila early Tuesday.
The van was on its way from Peshawar to Rawalpindi, when one of its tyres burst near Chungi No 26 and the driver lost control of the van, which hit a tree, overturned and caught fire.
Rescue 1122 and Edhi ambulances rushed to the scene. The injured were extracted after cutting the through the damaged body of the van and shifted to PIMS Hospital.
According to Rescue 1122 personnel, nothing could be said about the fate of driver. However, 12 persons were burnt alive and their scorched bodies have been taken to PIMS hospital.
A number of passengers were stuck in the wreckage until rescue teams reached the scene, eyewitnesses said, fearing the death toll may climb further.

  1. There must be the Law for transporters to keep there vans safer and there must be the way for exit in emergency,and there must be the law not to allow CNG for public transport. Because there is no difference in rents.
    The transporters using 3,4 CNG calenders of CNG in van and they are getting rent according to petrol rates.
