Minhaj-ul-Quran International Secretary General Dr Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi on Sunday announced to start a countrywide campaign from next month to raise awareness among the masses against the corrupt political and electoral system. “This corrupt and monopolistic electoral system has deprived people of their due rights and they can only change their destiny by rebelling against it,” he said, addressing a press conference here at the National Press Club. Flanked by Minhah-ul-Quran Deputy Secretary Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz and Punjab head Ahmed Nawaz Anjum, he said the campaign against the system would kick off from Rawalpindi district. “We will hold a massive rally at Liaquat Bagh on December 18 to raise awareness among the people against the corrupt electoral system,” he added.
