President Asif Ali Zardari wrote a letter to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry and requested him to hear the Bhutto reference case, a private TV channel reported on Saturday.
According to sources, in the letter, the president called the murder of former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto a judicial murder and the worst step in the country’s judicial history.
The Bhutto reference case has been pending since June 2011.
