As many as six labourers of a local spare parts manufacturing factory died after receiving severe electric shocks while off loading machinery with the help of a crane, which touched high tension electricity wires in Nishter Colony police precincts late on Friday. The deceased were identified as Razzaq, Ijaz, Zulfiqar, Usman, Asif and Sabir while the injured were identified as Tariq, Shoaib and Allah Rakha. Per details, the aforesaid labourers worked at a local factory – Volta Dyes and Moulds – located in Shadab Park. The factory produces spare parts of various automobiles for domestic sales. On Friday a consignment of various equipments reached the factory and the labourers got busy moving it to the factory’s first floor with the help of a crane. The nine labourers were holding the equipment in place with chains when the hook of the crane accidentally touched electricity wires laid above the factory, giving severe electric jolts to the workers.
