Roots School System’s students celebrated ‘Save our Mother Earth’ day in E-11/4 Campus on Saturday.
The students were wearing headgears and holding placards and banners inscribed with various slogans. They also delivered speeches and made posters and projects related to the day.
The event began with a presentation by the school choir while performances based on problems arising from global warming were also conducted. The ultimate aim of the programme was to make the students aware of global warming and measures to save the earth through projects and play performances.
They also held painting competition and tree plantation activity showing their commitment towards keeping the environment healthy by putting litter in bins.
World Wildlife Fund-Pakistan (WWF) Deputy Director General Dr Ijaz Ahmed and Roots School System Executive Director Walid Mushtaq profoundly admired the efforts of young Rootsians and their steps towards saving earth. Walid Mushtaq said “such events impart the knowledge of general awareness among children.”
