Member National Assembly (MNA) Sherry Rehman presented her resignation to the National Assembly speaker with effect from November 24, 2011.
According to a press release, Sherry Rehman said she has an association of nine years with this august House. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve the people of Pakistan as their public representative, and she is grateful to God, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, and Co-Chairman, President Asif Ali Zardari for giving her this opportunity for more than once.
She hoped to continue serving her beloved country and the Government of Pakistan in her next assignment to the best of her abilities.
