Imran to make assets public next week

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday announced he will declare his assets along with details of earnings and tax records. Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club after Salim Jan joined PTI, Imran Khan said he was introducing a new trend in politics by declaring his asset details.
Salim Jan, late Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan’s grandson and late Khan Abdul Wali Khan’s nephew announced he would join the PTI, and handed over the details of his assets to the PTI chief. Imran said, “Within a week I will address a press conference in which I shall make my assets public.” Imran said after safeguarding President Zardari’s rule for three and a half years, it was the PTI’s growing popularity that compelled the PML-N to embark on its ‘Go Zardari Go’ campaign.
He also said he was open to anyone joining his party but would only offer tickets to those free of corruption, who had declared their assets and were ideologically committed. He said he met the ISI chief one and a half year ago and met the US ambassador at his residence six months ago but denied meeting both of them together. Separately, addressing a public gathering at Peshawar after PPP former provincial minister Iftikhar Khan Jhagra announced he was joining the PTI, Imran said the time for both Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif to return to the pavilion has come and the 25 December gathering at Karachi will seal their fate.
He said an air of change had started blowing across the country and the PTI tsunami shall come to Multan on Saturday (today) and Ghotki on Sunday after traveling across Lahore, Chakwal and Peshawar.

  6. The declaration of assets is not enough; for Pakistan there is a dire need of a leadership that worships Pakistan; Pakistan today needs worshippers of Pakistan. Pakistanis are a people who can work wonders, but they are clueless, minus Pakistan worshipping leadership, what to speak of statesmanship. Pakistan is a strong symbol of struggle for the entire world. This merit of this great country must be preserved. There should be a forum – Voice of the People – which can save whatever is precious for all of us. PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!

  7. Imran is honest but the other guys are parasites sucking every ounce of the poor poeples blood. Officially Nawaz and Zardari are poor but the balances in the swiss accounts show billions.

    CHAPTER IV
    CONDUCT OF ELECTIONS

    12. Nomination for election.— 2[(1) Any elector of a constituency may
    propose or second the name of any duly qualified person to be a member for that
    constituency.]
    3[(2) Every nomination shall be made by a separate nomination paper in the
    prescribed form which shall be signed both by the proposer and the seconder and
    shall, on solemn affirmation made and signed by the candidate, accompany—
    (a) a declaration that he has consented to the nomination and that he
    fulfils the qualifications specified in Article 62 and is not subject to any
    of the disqualifications specified in Article 63 or any other law for the
    time being in force for being elected as a member;

    (c) a declaration that no loan for an amount of two million rupees or more,
    obtained from any bank, financial institution, cooperative society or
    corporate body in his own name or in the name of his spouse or any of
    his dependents, or any business concern mainly owned by him or the
    aforesaid, stands unpaid for more than one year from the due date, or
    has got such loan written off;
    (d) a declaration that he, his spouse or any of his dependents or a business
    concern mainly owned by him or the aforesaid, is not in default in
    payment of government dues or utility charges, including telephone,
    electricity, gas and water charges of an amount in excess of ten
    thousand rupees, for over six months, at the time of filing of nomination
    papers;
    (e) a statement specifying his educational qualifications, occupation,
    National Identity Card number and National Tax Number, if any,
    alongwith attested copies thereof; and
    (f) a statement of his assets and liabilities and those of his spouse and
    dependents on the prescribed form as on the preceding thirtieth day of
    June;
    Explanation.—For the purpose of this section, the expression—
    (i) “loan” shall mean any loan, advance, credit or finance obtained or
    written off on or after the 31st day of December, 1985, but shall not
    include the loan the recovery of which has been stayed or suspended
    by any order of a court or tribunal, including the High Court and the
    Supreme Court ;
    (ii) “mainly owned” shall mean holding or controlling a majority interest in
    a business concern ;
    (iii) “taxes” include all taxes levied by Federal Government, Provincial
    Government or a local government, but shall not include taxes the
    recovery of which has been stayed or suspended by any order of a
    court or tribunal;
    (iv) “government dues and utility charges” shall, inter alia, include rent,
    charges of rest houses or lodges owned by the Federal Government,
    Provincial Governments, local governments or corporations established
    or controlled by such governments, but shall not include the government
    dues and utilities charges the recovery of which has been stayed or
    suspended by any order of a court or tribunal.]

  10. NO NEED THEY DECLARE+TAXATION FBR WILL DO+ IF NOT CORRECT THEN TO BE CAUGHT BY AUTHORITIES IF POSSIBLE AND MADE IT PUBLIC– CHINA PUNISHES WITH DEATH FOR ALL CORRUPTS– IF THE AUTHORITIES ARE CORRUPT WHO WILL PUNISH THEM–

  15. Imran Khan will further strengthen his and his party's position by declaring the assets. It will burden and pressure other political leaders and parties more to declare their assets,too.In particular, PPP, PML(N), PPP(Q), ANP, MQM, JUI(F) and also Independents.This will also give SC and EC to take a look at their qualification for the coming elections.Hopefully, all leaders honestly declare the assets and even if they have a lot of wealth they should have the opportunity to explain themselves so it does not hurt their chances to win the seat back in Parliament and National Assembly.
