‘Set up water plants in flood-hit areas properly’

Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas has directed the secretaries of the Irrigation, Rehabilitation, and Public Health Engineering departments to ensure proper installation and utilisation of reverse osmosis water plants in the flood-affected areas of Sindh.
Abbas was presiding over a high-level meeting to review the relief and rescue operation in the rain-hit areas. The participants of the meeting were apprised that 312,642 tents and other utilities have so far been supplied to 19 districts of the province, whereas other goods, including 3.54 million family packs (ration), 55,381 blankets, 3,247 water purification units, 345,785 mosquito nets and other relevant items, have also been furnished. Moreover, 1,076 dewatering pumps have also been supplied to 12 districts.
Abbas advised the commissioners and deputy commissioners to remain in close liaison with the Sindh Rehabilitation Department and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, extending moral support and cooperation to effectively facilitate the flood affectees.
