Police used batons to beat nurses who staged protest outside the Punjab Assembly building against the non-issuance of notification of increase in their salaries here on Thursday.
The angry nurses staged protest demonstration outside the Punjab Assembly building and demanded issuance of notification of increase in salaries and allowances and promotion in next scale. The police restored to baton charge on the angry mob. The nurses were chanting slogans against the provincial government. On this occasion the nurses and lady police personnel scuffled with each other.
According to the police, protest demonstration is banned in the area under section 144 so that’s why they conducted baton charge on the enraged nurses.
Meanwhile, traffic remained jam on Lahore Mall road due to the protest demonstration, while the nurses stopped the ambulance service.
