Education guarantees bright future

Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil on Thursday termed better education of children as a guarantee for a bright future, saying, “If we want to become a frontline nation of the world, we need to accord a due place to the teacher and the learner.”
He expressed these views while addressing a grand ceremony held in connection with the Universal Children Day at the Auditorium of National Library Islamabad, organised jointly by the Directorate General of Special Education and CAD Islamabad. Federal Minister for Provincial Coordination Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Managing Director Pakistan Bait Ul Mal Zamurd Khan and Directorate of Special Educations’ Director Syed Mustafeen Kazmi were other guests of honour.
A large number of children from various schools of Islamabad, including special children, were also present who presented patriotic songs and made speeches against terrorism and extremism which were highly appreciated by the audience. Alamgir Khan said children were an asset, adding that world organisations were playing a key role for the just rights of children and the present government was also safeguarding their basic rights.
“We as a nation have great traditions of protecting the Islamic values and human rights and the services of the current MD Pakistan Bait Ul Mal Zamurd Khan are praiseworthy, as he has taken revolutionary steps for the welfare and well-being of poor and orphans and the setting up of Sweet Home is the most commendable step in the history of the country by which hundreds of children have benefited.”
He stressed the need for further systematising and improving the efforts for the well-being and education of children so that they can become responsible citizens of the country.
Children from Roots School System and City School were particularly outstanding in their performance and the federal minister gave a cash prize of Rs. 100,000 to them from his personal pocket and made exclusive mention of their talent in his speech. The federal minister also gave away shields and certificates among the deserving children while Mustafeen presented memorial shields to the the guests.
