A large number of city areas remained without electricity for more than six hours due to technical repairs on Sunday. The residents of Township, Johar Town, WAPDA Town and Green Town had to face electricity closure from 8:30am to 3pm. “We should have been informed beforehand,” said Saeed Malik, a consumer, adding that the people had to face a lot of difficulties in doing their daily tasks, especially since it was Sunday. “We did not have water all day also,” said Alia Zain, a housewife, adding that she was not able to do anything she had planned for the day. LESCO officials said the closure was because of repair works on the transmission lines. “It was a routine overhauling of the transmission lines,” said a LESCO official at the Green Town grid station.
