Scores of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists on Sunday staged a protest demonstration against the alarming inflation and collection of toll tax from the residents of Islamabad at the entry point of the city. The demonstration was held at Peshawar Road near Tarnol Chowk, which was led by PTI Islamabad President Amir Mughal.
Carrying party flags in their hands, the protesters raised slogans against the incumbent government over its ‘failure’ in controlling price hike.
Speaking on the occasion, Amir Mughal said the Capital Development Authority and National Highway Authority (NHA) were charging fee from the citizens of Islamabad at Tarnol Toll Plaza.
He said the locals had to move in and outside of the capital twice or thrice a day and they were forced to pay tax each time.
The protesters demanded the government not to charge the local at entry points.Talking about the inflation, Amir said the life of a common person had become miserable, adding that the government had no plan to control price the hike.
