Poet Safdar Shahid Malik was deprived of Rs 25,000 by an imposter when he was depositing the cash in the branch of a local bank here.
According to details, a young man who was posing himself as an employee of the bank took cash from the victim on the pretext of rearranging the currency notes, when he was standing in a queue to deposit the cash.
The cheater disappeared from the bank soon after committing the crime.
Safdar Malik immediately brought the matter into the knowledge of the bank administration and also lodged a report of the incident with Margalla police station.
The poet has appealed to the authorities to take special steps for bringing the culprit to task.
