Amid raging political storm in the country over secret memogate, Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar on Sunday said the prime minister would be responsible if Pakistani Ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani was found involved in the scandal.
Talking to the media, Mukhtar said that Hussain Haqqani was part of the prime minister’s team and if the envoy was found guilty, the PM house would directly be responsible for the conspiracy.
He said that investigations were underway to find the fact and action would be taken only after the investigations, adding that if Haqqani involved in the conspiracy, the prime minister would decide his future.
Mukhtar added Mansoor Ijaz was a conspirator and he had been involved many conspiracies against Pakistan.
On a query over Nawaz Sharif’s allegation on secret agencies for backing particular a political party, Mukhtar said ISI and other agencies have nothing to do with the political activities.
He also said if Nawaz Sharif wants to take the secret memo matter to the apex court, then it is his right to do so.

  1. So now the Defence Minister has woken up too! He did not like being sidelined,. He holds an important post too! Is he not a member of the team? was he not appointed by the prime minister? I thought the cabinet had a collective resposibility -obviously not!
For God,s sake let us stop washing our dirty linen in public. The world is laughing at us. Mr prime minister it is time you culled your cabinet instead of their jumping off and scattering and blaming you for all the ills.Do you recall how prime minister M.Thatcher dealt with Haseltine?
