Two passengers held at airport for carrying arms

The Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell (DEC) seized 12 pistols and 180 rounds from the possession of two outgoing passengers at the airport on Friday. Customs Chief Media Liaison Officer Qamar Thalho said that the Customs DEC staff intercepted two Pakistani passengers, Muhammad Ashraf Adil and Sohail Feroz, during routine surveillance at the international departure hall before they could board PIA flight PK-268 destined for Kathmandu, Nepal.
Both passengers were carrying three large sized toothed mechanical gears containing 12 pistols and 180 live rounds, concealed under sand. “Both passengers were arrested and prosecution cases under Customs Act, 1969, were registered against them,” Thalho added.
