Sharifs succeed in placating Punjab AG

Punjab Advocate General Khwaja Haris, who submitted his resignation to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on November 2, has agreed to work on the post on the request of the Punjab government and the bigwigs of the Sharif family.
Haris resigned as Punjab AG after developing differences with Punjab Finance Secretary Tariq Bajwa on the issue of perks and privileges for the law officers of Punjab.
He had brought the matter to the notice of the government but his suggestions was ignored “which deeply hurt his ego”.
Haris could not digest Bajwa’s powers and interference, who had become a headache for him and the only way he could make the Sharifs pay him any attention was by resigning.
It took the Sharif family many days to calm Haris down and bring him back to the Punjab Law Department as Shahbaz and Nawaz Sharif only trust Haris who has been their family lawyers for years.
It is learnt that the chief minister had assured Haris that the finance secretary would be removed soon and all his grievances would be addressed.
It will be the third time that Haris will return to office of the Punjab AG after resigning over one issuer or the other. The government has always surrendered to his demands.
This is magic of the trust the Sharif family vests in Haris and Shahbaz can not do without Haris guarding the legal fronts of the government that is allegedly working on an “SC stay order”.
