Child dies due to LESCO’s negligence

A 6-year-old child died from electrocution, while two others were badly injured, in the city’s Nawan Kot area, on Friday. Ahsan, 6, Kashaf, 8, and Shaan, 10, were playing on the rooftop of their house situated beside Bilal mosque, Sikandirya Colony in the area of Nawan Kot. Mohammad Jan, father of the children, said the children were on the roof top in the morning as per routine when their mother heard shouting and a blast. Jan said his wife ran upstairs to find all their children badly injured. The children were taken to a hospital, where young Ahsan passed away due to major injures. The others were said to be out of danger. Police said the children had been electrocuted by a high voltage power-line passing right beside the house’s roof.
Neighbours claimed they had registered many complaints on the issue with LESCO, but nothing had been done.
The body was sent to the dead house.
ROBBERY: A 40-year-old man was shot dead during what seems to be a robbery attempt in the Sattu Katla Police precincts.
According to details, three men had jumped into a house located in the PIA Colony which is located right beside WAPDA Town. Police said that all three men were armed and jumped in from the backside of the house, which was connected to a graveyard. Police said that the men took the entire family hostage when house owner Muhammad Noman came out of his room and pounced on one of the robber. A brawl was witnessed on which the robbers shot Noman twice in his right shoulder. The injured was taken to Jinnah hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
KILLED: A 20-year-old man was stabbed to death by his uncle in the Ichchra Police precincts. According to police, Muhammad Ahasn lived with his uncle Muhammad Adnan, who was originally from Hujranwala. Police said that Adnan had run away from home with his lover Ayesha, who was living with Adnan in Ichchra. Adnan suspected that Ahsan had illicit relation with his wife. On the day of the incident, the accused stabbed Ahsan to death and fled.
