The toughest competition in the telecom sector has pushed almost all cellular operators against the wall. Earlier, mobile operators imposed service charges for accessing helpline; now, most operators have started deducting service charges or operational fee on scratch card reloads. The largest cellular operator, Mobilink, has recently issued a public notice in which it has disclosed that all pre-paid subscribers will be charged an operational fee of one per cent on Jazz Load and two per cent on scratch card top-up.
