An impressive opening ceremony of the two weeks long joint Exercise (YOUYI-IV-2011) between Pakistan and Chinese Army was held here on Friday near Jhelum.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), national flags of both the countries were hoisted.
Inspector General Training and Evaluation Lieutenant General Muzammil Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Hussain said that China has always been a Pakistan’s close friend and armies of both countries maintain strong ties with each other. He said the joint exercise will provide an opportunity to troops of both the countries to benefit from each other’s experience.
Deputy Commander Chinese PLA Lieutenant General Zhao Jianzhong also attended the ceremony and highlighted the exemplary relations between Pakistan and China.
It is worth mentioning here that the joint exercise aims at familiarization and sharing of information through an inclusive training programme in real time, and also includes collective training at unit and brigade level to observe drills and procedures in low intensity conflict operations.
