The capital police claimed on Wednesday to have nabbed 42 absconders wanted in various cases. A police spokesman said the arrests were made during last two weeks in separate crackdowns against outlaws. He said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Yousuf Malik had ordered his subordinates to arrest all the proclaimed offenders from their respective jurisdictions.
The SSP had also directed all the sub divisional police officers (SDPOs) and station house officers (SHOs) to launch massive crackdown against proclaimed offenders and absconders. The spokesman said as many as 42 absconding outlaws including 11 proclaimed offenders and 31 court absconders were apprehended during the last fortnight.
