Pakistan must learn from Korean development: NUST seminar

Korean Alumni Association Pakistan (KAAP) arranged a seminar on “Korean Economic Development: Lessons for Pakistan” here on Thursday at National University of Science and Technology (NUST). Korean Ambassador Choongjoo Choi graced the occasion as the chief guest. The delegates threw light on rapid economic development by Korea over the years and outlined the lessons Pakistan can learn from the country. KAAP President Dr M Ashraf Moten said that KAAP, since its inception in 2003, had been actively engaged in strengthening friendly relations and cultural bonds between Korean and Pakistani people. KAAP had been organising seminars on issues of mutual interest, cultural shows and sponsoring equipment or civil work at schools in neglected areas, he added.
He thanked the ambassador and hoped Korea would continue its support. The technical session of the seminar focused on aspects like rapid industrialisation and economic development of Korea. He opined Pakistan must learn from Korean development. NUST Rector Engineer Muhammad Asghar lauded KAAP for taking steps to strengthen ties between the two countries. In the end, the chief guest thanked KAAP for organsing the seminar and reassured his support for the activities of KAAP for mutual benefits of the brotherly nations. The seminar was attended by academicians, government officials and luminaries from private sector and students. The seminar concluded with vote of thanks by the KAAP president to all the guests.
