Brushing aside rumours of differences between the government and the army, Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Wednesday the civilian and military leadership was on the same page and there was no tension between the two at all. “President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani discussed security issues in their meeting on Tuesday and all details about security matters cannot be shared with the media,” she said in response to a question in a press briefing on the cabinet meeting. Regarding an alleged secret memo of President Zardari sent to the US administration, the minister said the government as well as the Presidency had already released a denial in this regard.
