Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MPA and former Punjab chief minister Dost Mohammad Khosa admitted in the Lahore High Court by a written reply on Wednesday that he had married film actress Zeba Khan alias Sapna and a daughter was born from the wedlock, but afterwards ended the relation by divorcing her. The report was submitted by Muhammad Zubair Khalid Chaudhry, counsel for Dost Muhammad, in a habeas corpus petition for recovery of Sapna and her daughter from illegal custody of ex-CM. Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed was hearing the petition. The petition was filed by the Judicial Activism Panel through its chairman Advocate Muhammad Azhar Siddique in public interest. Hina Khan, sister of Sapna Khan is also fighting the legal battle for recovery of her sister.
Hina alleged that it seemed that Khosa had killed her sister because she had gone missing after marrying him, after which the court had sought reply from Khosa. In the reply he admitted that he had married Sapna on June 2, 2010 under Muslim Family Laws and on February 28, 2011 a daughter namely Mah Gul was born from wedlock. However, he added, that on October 11, 2011 he divorced Sapna. He also submitted the certificate of marriage and the certificate of divorce in the court. The certificate issued by Union Counsel Green Town Lahore proved the divorce effected on Oct 11, 2011. The report said daughter Mah Gul was in the care of Khosa’s family and he did not know anything about the whereabouts of Sapna. The counsel for Khosa objected in the court that Azhar was not relevant party in the case and his petition should be dismissed. He said session court had also rejected Azhar’s petition on the ground that he was not an aggrieved party to the case. Hinda, sister of Sapna, who was present in the court said her sister be recovered at the earliest because her life was in danger. Justice Azmat adjourned the hearing till November 28 on request of Muhammad Azhar who said he needed time to study the ‘distorted’ reports filed by Khosa and file his rejoinder. Hina said she would not rest until her sister was not recovered from the illegal custody of Khosa who had either killed her or detained her.
