Qureshi demands new elections

Former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday demanded new general elections, saying that Zardari league government has failed to tackle the problems of the common man.
Talking to media persons on Multan airport, he said the present Pakistan People’s Party lacks visionary leadership to deal with security and financial matters.
Qureshi said he was not fired of his post, instead he quit the ministry himself and revealed that President Zardari forced him to declare diplomatic amnesty for CIA spy Raymond Davis who killed three innocent Pakistanis.
Qureshi said he presented his resignation to the President on 30th January when he had been forced by the president to give diplomatic amnesty to Raymond Davis because it was against the dignity of the nation.
He said his decision to quit ministry was based on principles and he was only accountable to the public.
The former minister said that it was time to go consult the people and demanded that the government should quit for general elections.
On query over his political future, Qureshi said that he will announce his next strategy in Ghotki on November 27.
Responding to a question on his participation in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, he asked the media to wait until November 27.
Qureshi said he has had good terms with Nawaz Sharif and would surly meet him after his return from UAE, if PML-N leader would invite him.
