Faiz Centennial event’s venue shifted to Bagh Ibne Qasim

The venue of the Faiz Centennial has been shifted from Kashmir Road to Bagh Ibne Qasim in Clifton. This decision was made in a meeting of the Faiz Centennial Ceremonies Committee held on Sunday under the chairmanship of its president Zafrullah Poshni at the PMA House.
The three-day programme will be held from November 18 to 20. The provincial government, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and various Karachi-based nongovernmental organisations are cooperating with the committee in the arrangements for the programme.
The participants of the meeting were informed that summary has been sent to the University of Karachi for the establishment of a Faiz Chair.
It was also decided that a Faiz Library would be set at Abdullah Haroon College in Lyari. The committee’s secretary Rahat Saeed informed the participants of the meeting that a media centre has been set up at Bagh Ibne Qasim for the event and about 52 delegates from nine countries have also agreed to participate in it. “Various committees have been set up to hold the Faiz Centennial.” The Sindh government’s special representative, Taj Haider said on the occasion that the provincial government has passed a resolution on Faiz Centennial ceremonies and therefore providing all possible support for holding the event. Saeed said that many decisions have been made to stage the event in a befitting manner and more details about it would be announced at a conference scheduled to be held on Wednesday (tomorrow).
