PNCA show fascinates military men

Over 400 local and foreign students of National Defence University (NDU) on Monday visited the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and appreciated the modern and contemporary work presented in different galleries. The delegation headed by Brigadier Haider Ali Naqvi, including the family members of faculty members of NDU, military and civil officials, foreign students and children took keen interest in the contemporary art, reflecting modern and contemporary face of Pakistan, paintings of renowned artists of the country, like Sadqain. The members of National Puppet Theatre (NPT) presented a number of performances in the regular weekly Puppet Show, which especially attracted the children.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan National Council of the Arts Director General Tauqeer Nasir said the organisation was promoting a soft image of Pakistan all over the world with the message of patriotism. He added that Pakistan had an asset of rich culture and tradition which should be highlighted at international level to showcase Pakistan as a peace loving country. Brigadier Haider Ali Naqvi thanked the PNCA management and in particular DG Tauqir Nasir, saying it was a wrong notion that soldiers were without aesthetic sense and had no interest in art and culture. On the occasion, the head of both the institutions exchanged souvenir and thanked each other.
