Stressing upon unity among politicians, Punjab Governor Latif Khosa said on Saturday that all political parties should jointly work for stability of the country and continuity of the democratic process.
He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter led by its president Syed Zahir Shah, which called on him at the Governor’s House. Khosa said that it was the responsibility of all political parties to save the present democratic process and defeat undemocratic elements, which want to derail the democratic process. The governor said that the PPP would carry former PM and PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto’s reconciliatory policy with diligently and honestly.
Separately, talking to a delegation of overseas Pakistanis headed by the former mayor of Burmley, UK, the governor said that that overseas Pakistanis were assets of the country. Overseas Pakistanis should work hard and play a pivotal role in not only strengthening the country’s economy but also portraying the positive image of Pakistan, Khosa said.
He said that overseas Pakistanis were considered as ambassadors of their country, as they work in foreign countries but their hearts live in Pakistan. The governor said that the PPP-led federal government always works for overseas Pakistanis and provides them maximum facilities. He assured the delegation that the federal government will provide them full security and help secure their investments.
