The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore will announce the intermediate part I result on November 19, BISE Lahore Chairman Dr Allah Baksh said on Saturday. Earlier the erroneous results announced on October 17 had stirred a wave of anger among the hundreds of thousands of students across Punjab, forcing the chief minister to cancel the result. Errors were found in the results after the introduction of online system in all the boards of Punjab. However, other boards of Punjab would not be announcing the result on the same date. The BISE Lahore chairman also said that about 124,000 students appeared in the exams and results of 80,000 candidates were erroneous. Although the CM gave a 45-day deadline for the rechecking of papers, the board rechecked and compiled the results within 30 days. According to reports, the results have been made manually instead of online system in order to avoid any error this time. Sources also revealed that the principals and teachers of the colleges will also be briefed about the board’s rechecking mechanism. On the other hand, the students awaiting results hoped for an error free result and hailed the proceedings of the judicial commission made to probe the blunder made by the Punjab boards.
